Frequently asked questions

Although booking and attending a course with us is really straightforward, questions do crop up from time to time. Here are answers to some of the most popular questions we are asked.

We hope this is useful but if you can’t find an answer to your question here, just give us a call.

  • Will I get notes to take away at the end of my course?
  • Yes. Everyone gets a set of course notes or a course book to take away with them at the end of the course. This is included in the cost of the course.
  • How big are your classes?
  • Small. Which means you get lots of individual attention. All our public scheduled training courses have a maximum class size of five. If you are looking to arrange a training course for more than five people we can run a private course for you.
  • How long do your courses last?
  • The shortest course is a day and the longest courses are our five-day workshops.
  • Where does the training take place?
  • We have two training centres in central London, one at King's Cross and other at Waterloo, just beside the station.
  • Does Media Training supply all the equipment?
  • Yes, for courses held at our training centres we supply everything. Computers, software, pads to write on, course notes to take away and a fab two-course lunch. Oh, and lots of coffee, tea and biscuits.
  • I don’t live near London, are there courses closer to me?
  • As well as having two training centres in London, we run courses at our clients’ offices all over the UK and around Europe. We can run a private course at your offices, wherever you are.
  • I’m travelling from outside London, can you recommend somewhere to stay?
  • Yes, here is a list of hotels we recommend - please check if your course is at King's Cross or Waterloo before booking your hotel.
  • Tell me more about the people who come on your courses.
  • Our clients come from organisations of all sizes - from world-famous corporations like the BBC to tiny, independent companies. We also get lots of freelancers who want to top up their skills.
  • What happens if I need to cancel or postpone a course?
  • Providing you give us more than a weeks notice you can cancel or postpone your course as many times as you like at no cost. No problem.
  • Can I tailor the content of my course?
  • Yes, almost half the courses we run are tailored to our clients’ specific requirements. When you call us to book, just tell us what you want to learn and we’ll do the rest.
  • Is there a dress code?
  • No, feel free to wear anything that you feel comfortable in.
  • How does the Helpdesk work?
  • Simply call us on 020 7359 9855 or email helpdesk@mediatraining.ltd.uk with any problems or questions between the hours of 9.30am and 5pm and we will arrange for a trainer to contact you.
  • What time will my course start?
  • Courses start at 10 am and finish between 4.30 and 5pm. If you arrive 15 minutes before the start of the course we can register you and make you a tea or coffee.
  • Will I be using a Mac or PC on my course?
  • We have lots of high-spec Macs and PCs. Simply tell us at the time of booking which you would prefer to use during the course.
  • Is Media Training accredited?
  • Yes, by Apple, Adobe and Quark. In fact, we are proud to be able to say that Media Training is the UK’s leading Adobe, Quark and Apple authorised training centre.
  • How can I pay for my course?
  • We can accept payment by personal or company credit card (Visa, Mastercard or Maestro). If you work for a company and would prefer to pay by invoice our accounts team can easily arrange this.
