Edit video professionally with Final Cut Pro on this two-day introduction course for beginners and those upgrading their skills. You'll learn the Final Cut Pro workflow and interface, how to import and organise media using keywords and libraries, how to make your first edits and work with the magnetic timeline, how to trim and refine your cut, apply effects and transitions, mix and adjust audio, add titles and graphics, apply basic colour correction, and export your finished project.

Hands-on throughout with practical projects on both days.

Video editing and media technical terms and concepts
Understand basic Final Cut Pro workflow

Importing media

Define the clip, event, and library containers
Understand the differences between managed and external media files
Import files using Media Import and the Finder

Organizing clips

Apply keywords to clip and clip ranges
Search and filter clips by keywords
Batch rename clips

Making the first edit

Create a project
Add and rearrange clips within a primary storyline
Ripple, Roll, and Slip trim clips
Blade, replace with gap, ripple delete, and join through edit

Create and edit in a connected storyline

Define and distinguish the two types of project duplication
